Burnt Maquis
Maquis (in French) or Macchia (in Italian) is the most common vegetation of Corsica. It typically consists of densely-growing evergreen shrubs such as sage, juniper and myrtle. Sometimes it gets burnt as in this photo taken in April 2006 on the mountain ridge between San Parteo (1680) and Monte Tolu (1332).
